Cape Cod Weekend Trip
This past weekend myself and a few friends went to celebrate our gal pals engagement to her boo at the home of her parents-in-law to be.
Three of us flew into NYC on Thursday and pitter-pattered about until it was time to head over to Grand Central Station for our train to Stamford, CT. From there we proceeded our 3 leg of travel which was road tripping down to the Cape.
Friday
We woke up from a deep rest only travel on a plane, train and automobile could bring from the day before.
Once we gathered ourselves we headed out to lunch at this adorable spot called the Fisherman’s View located in a town called Sandwich (the irony did not go over our heads and warranted a chuckle from me).
We shared some starters and then basically ordered different versions of the Lobster Roll because…Duh!
— Naruto Roll* — Jonah crab, avocado, salmon, wasabi sauce wrapped in cucumber
— Local Oysters* — with soy-yuzu mignonette, cocktail sauce, lemon, and horseradish
— Maplebrook Farms Burrata Caprese — heirloom tomatoes, fried basil, arugula, crostini, aged balsamic
Later on Friday, we took a visit to the local Cap Code Winery where we tried 6 locally made wines and looked out at the grape vines.
Suggestion: Go for the Blueberry as your Red options.
And in a true millennial fashion, we waited to get seated at a Mexican restaurant for 2 hours *insert sad face*. But when we got our party of 10 in there it was wonderful.
Saturday
The big Engagement party was so beautifully organized by the mother of the groom. We pitched in to help set up the party. I was on balloon placement squad *Holla*.
After the guests arrived the drink started flowing, it was lunch and isn’t this most important. Please relish in the photos and run out immediately to get Oysters.
Sunday
Leaving day was sad. We took the morning to dip into the pool and slowly but surely eat whatever leftovers we could find.
We departed for our very long road trip back to NYC. But to curb the sadness/hangover vibes we pasted the time with My Dad Wrote Porno Podcast. If you have not heard this podcast and you have literally a sliver of funny in your body you need to hit that up. I’ve even linked it for ya. Go on…indulge!
If you make it to the Cape please do share some of the fun things you got up to as I would definitely return because I love a Lobsta Roll.
